What is Acid Peeling?

Acid Peeling - A Purifying Path to Luminous Skin.

Face & Body Acid Peeling
Acid peeling, or chemical peeling, is a cosmetic treatment used to improve the appearance of the skin by applying a chemical solution that exfoliates the outer layers. The treatment can help with various skin concerns, such as acne, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, and overall skin texture.

The treatment allows the practitioner to be able to control the level of peeling that is needed. From light to heavy peels, depending on the needs of the patient's skin as well as the patient's skin type.

Types of Acid Peels

Acid peels are classified based on the depth of the skin they affect. Here are the main types:

Superficial Peels (Light Peels):
They are gentle and require little downtime. They help improve skin texture, tone, and clarity, making them great for minor skin issues like dryness, acne, or light pigmentation. Recovery time: Little to no downtime. Mild redness and flaking might occur.

Medium Peels:
They are more effective for treating moderate sun damage, wrinkles, acne scars, and age spots. Recovery time: A few days to a week of redness, peeling, and possible scabbing.

Deep Peels:
Deep peels are typically reserved for more severe skin issues, such as deep wrinkles, severe sun damage, or certain scars. Recovery time: Significant peeling and redness that may last 1-2 weeks. Healing can take several weeks, and there may be a risk of scarring or pigmentation changes.
