Are you frustrated with recurring acne breakouts? Are you having deep cystic acne?

Is Bali’s humid, tropical weather and pollution causing you to have breakouts?

Tried out all the creams and products, but it only leaves your skin dry and still having acne?

We understand your frustration, but did you know that your acne might actually be connected to a variety of hidden causes you might not expect? Here are some facts you might not know about acne.

THE MAIN CAUSES OF ACNE IN BALI

Never had issues with acne and suddenly acne breakouts before moving to Bali, and now you seem to be getting breakouts often? Bali’s tropical humid air and heat combined with dust and pollution, especially when traveling on a motorcycle can wreak havoc on your skin, causing oily skin and blocked pores which can lead to frequent acne breakouts. Furthermore, Bali's hardwater found in the tap water throughout various parts of the island can not only ruin your hair, stain glass or shiny objects, but also block pores, leading to acne breakouts in some people.

To cleanse oil, dust, dirt and pollution trapped in your skin's pores while simultaneously hydrating it, we recommend that you try out our HydraGlo Facial or combine it with CellreJet Acne Serum for a more in depth cleaning.

A HIDDEN CAUSE – HORMONES AND GUT ISSUES.

Hormonal fluctuations, especially increases in androgens, can trigger the skin's oil glands to produce more sebum, which clogs pores and leads to acne breakouts. Imbalances in gut bacteria or digestive inflammation can trigger systemic inflammation and affect hormone regulation, which may show up on the skin as persistent or cystic acne.

We recommend that you try out Holistic Health Consultations and dive deep into your health history, to find out if hormones and gut issues may be the culprit.

FOOD INTOLERANCE AND ALLERGIES

Your body is much more connected than you think. What appears as acne, might actually be an indicator that your body has trouble digesting or is intolerant of a certain food you regularly consume. Acne might just be a way your body is trying to communicate to you that something is wrong in your digestion.

To know if food intolerance might be behind your acne breakouts, we suggest you to take a more in depth approach into your health history and Book a Holistic Health Consultation or Explore NAET Allergy Treatment.

ACNE SCARRING

However you get acne, one thing is certain, and that you will get an equally painful reminder of it; acne scars. Acne scars generally come in two types. Most people get "pitted" or indented scars, which can look like small, narrow holes (icepick scars), wider dips with defined edges (boxcar scars), or shallow, uneven waves across the skin (rolling scars). These form when inflamed, deep breakouts damage the collagen under your skin, and your body doesn't rebuild enough of it while healing, leaving a dent behind.

Less commonly, some people get raised, thickened scars, which happen when the body produces too much collagen while healing. In general, the deeper or more inflamed the breakout, the more likely it is to scar, which is why picking or squeezing pimples, or leaving cystic acne untreated for a long time, tends to make scarring worse.

SO WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT IT?

At Bali Healing Beauty, we offer several treatments such as: Microneedling and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Face Therapy which are designed to combat acne scars and allow natural healing and smoothening of the skin. Alternatively, Acid Peeling may also help with acne, especially with darkened spots caused by more recent acne scarring.
